Fulbright Hays Group Project to India, Fabric of Indian Life
The goal of the Fabric of Indian Life group project is to enhance Asian studies on university campuses and in K-12 schools by focusing on textiles as a window to the culture of India , ranging from its history and daily life to artisan enterprises and global business engagement. Funding for Fabric of Indian Life comes from the Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad Program in the U.S. Department of Education.

 

New York Study Tour
In the spring semester of every other academic year (odd years), the Department of Design and Merchandising invites students to participate in DM 400, a study tour of New York City. Students visit firms in the apparel and interior business and also tour museums and other New York City attractions.

 

 

Apparel and Merchandising Student Apparel Design Show

The annual Design & Merchandising student apparel design show showcases the work of Apparel Design & Production students in the senior capstone class, AM 446 - Apparel Design & Production.

Interior Design Senior Show
The Interior Design Senior Show showcases the capstone projects and portfolios of graduating seniors in the Interior Design major. Students complete a large scale project representing research-based design solutions, illustrating synthesis and analysis of entry-level concepts and portfolio development.

 

The Apparel and Merchandising Student Apparel Design show and the Interior Design Senior Show are recognized events of the
Celebrate Undergraduate and Research Creativity Symposium
. The CURC showcase is held annually in April and features outstanding performers and award winners from all disciplines. Following the Showcase, an awards ceremony recognizes all participants
and honored awards winners from the various events.
